SciTech Spotlight

Astronaut John Young was born on this day in 1930. He has flown in space six times. He was commander of the first shuttle mission, walked on the Moon during the Apollo 16 mission, made the first manned flight of the Gemini spacecraft and was on the aborted Apollo 13 flight. He also piloted four different classes of spacecraft: Gemini, the Apollo Command and Service Module, the Apollo Lunar Module and the Space Shuttle.
